What was the Go London Social Innovation Competition?
The Go London social Innovation competition was a call for ideas to get London physically active. By encouraging conversations about the benefits of being physically active we hoped to capture bright, innovative ideas. The competition was a great success, accepting nearly 100 ideas from across the city.
The Go London Finals took place on Friday the 14th May- read all about what happened here!
We welcomed the Go London finalists and experts across the field of service design, development and innovation to London’s Living room at City Hall to work in teams to shape fantastic final pitches and present in front of out evening audience including those all important judges. Our Finalists were…
Each team worked tirelessly to pull their presentations together, drawing insights from their team mates and working with tools designed to develop their ideas. Late afternoon we welcomed the show and tell audience, where the idea owners had to face our very own Dragon’s Den, an impressive panel of experts in the field of design, consultancy, health, advertising, London Authority and social media.
And the winner is…
Both 10,000 Step Challenge and Pop Up Fitness impressed the judges equally and, with the belief that the ideas could work together to develop something truely magic, idea owners Danielle Ramsey and Dr. Ingrid Bergson scoped the title of winners of the Go London Social Innovation Competition!
So… what next?
The Finals may well be over, but it is just the beginning for our ideas. Each innovator achieved recognition from our judges and invitations to work with those who may be able to help develop their ideas into something even better. Be sure to check the Go London blog to keep up with what our finalists are up to.
The day also saw our friends at Evans Cycles present their cycle winners with their scholarships, which they generously offered as part of the Go London Social Innovation campaign.
All three will be blogging about their adventures on the scholarship and how cycling has helped get them (hopefully!) get moving and exploring the city over on the Go London blog, so be sure to check back and see how they’re doing!
Thank you!
We’d like to thank all those experts who gave up their time to support the competition, our judges, those donated prizes to our winners, all those who submitted ideas throughout the competition and, of course, our finalists themselves!
