My idea is called…pop-up-fitness

By Dr Ingrid Bergson | Published: February 23rd, 2010

As a clinical psychologist, I am aware that people with all the information and will in the world struggle to change habits and make new ones. Forgetting to do something new is a major barrier. I would implement screen pop ups for all staff who use a computer (targetting those in more sedentary roles). The pop up could be a timed reminder to move around, exercise or walk the corridoor for a set period. This could even time out your computer for a few minutes to help prevent the person ignore the message. Whole offices could be timed together to encourage a shared activity time. This will also help prevent problems such as back pain, eye strain and RSI from prolonged sitting.
